Alexander's wife and King Puru
In 300 B.C. at the time when Alexander invaded India. He was resisted by the brave King Porus. The bravery of Porus led the Alexander's wife to doubt the safety of her husband. Upset by this, Alexander's wife, who had heard of the Rakhi festival, sent a Rakhi to King Puru. King Puru accepted her as his sister and when the opportunity came during the war, he restrained from Alexander.

Rani Karnavati, the widow queen of Chittor , Rajasthan was threatened by the king of Mewar, Bahadur Shah. Humayun being aware of the significance of Rakhi in the Hindu community and was so moved that he abandoned an ongoing battled and rushed to help her.
